![]() The Vega Banjos
Tenor banjos can be tuned C,G,B,D which is the usual tuning, or in guitar tuning, D,G,B,E or even Ukelele tuning G,C,EA- Different string gauges may be required for alternate tun- ings. Tenor banjos can also be tuned to C, G,DA which is the same as the viola and mandola. If you play violin or mandolin now, and are looking for a new sound, try a tenor banjo. The 19 Fret tenor banjos are generally played in Dixieland and Traditional Jazz music. The 17 fret banjos are played in Irish music and are great for smaller hands because the reach is easier. Tenor banjo is a versatile instrument that's lots of fun to play. |
